This year marks Mr. Sganga’s first year serving amongst the distinguished faculty of Summit Academy Charter School. Mr. Sganga is currently serving as the 11th grade United States History class and the 12th grade Economics class. Mr. Sganga has expressed passion for the study of history; spending his collegiate years in the National History Honor Society, Phi Alpha, Theta, and speaking at their National Conference. Mr. Sganga graduated Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Mr. Sganga currently holds teaching certification from the State of New York & a level two Catechetical Certification from the Archdiocese of New York.
The teaching style of Mr. Sganga stresses deep inquiry into the past and explores levels of factual detail not only meeting but exceeding those mandated by the board of regents. Mr. Sganga has stated “it is my intention to send forth a cohort of scholars armed with the knowledge of the past and skills of critical thinking to understand and confront the complex quagmire of our modern times”.
