We are not only teachers; we are advisors, leaders and members of the Red Hook Community. Staff members provide our scholars with a well-rounded educational experience that goes far beyond academics.
Our daily effort in accomplishing this helps establish tight bonds not only between staff and scholars, but among staff members as well.
A Variety of Supports
Every teacher is assigned an instructional coach who assists with lesson planning and instructional initiatives. Instructional coaches and other school leaders perform regular informal observations and hold in-person feedback conferences in order to foster teacher growth and scholar success.
We are proud of the fact that some of our most ambitious teachers have become assistant principals, deans and instructional coaches in a short period of time. New staff members are provided not only with opportunities to hone their craft, but also the training and support to realize their own professional aspirations.
Our Approach to Learning
We consider it a great honor to bring the benefits of rigorous, college-focused scholarship to the long underserved Community School District 15 completely free of charge.
A comprehensive sense of shared responsibility between the school and our families is a critical factor in maintaining world-class expectations for every scholar – regardless of race, gender, religion, socio-economic status or prior educational achievement. After all – the mission is not about what scholars bring to the school when they begin, it’s about what they take with them when they leave.
